This is truly a sad day for america. Fox news put one thing in perspective though..

The statue of liberty is still standing and is clearly visible even through the smoke... One small glimmer of hope.

The death toll is expected to be in the 10's of thousands, nearly 50,000 in total, including all the aircraft, and those killed from debris.

To put this in perspective, that's about half the number of US soldiers killed in Vietnam.

I just heard that another plane is hijacked and heading towards Washington. Is it a passenger plane? They're gonna have to shoot it down. They got no choice. Either that or let it hit its target.

I heard that the plane that crashed south of Pittsburgh was the one that was hijacked and heading to Washingon. Have they said anything as to how it went down?

I had to go to the library to check my e-mail to see if I got anything from her, so what has happened in the last 20 minutes? Did the other tower fall also?

both towers are gone. but from what it seems that most things outside the buildings or ok. i hope your GF is OK as well.

God I hope she's ok. I know she wouldn't be in the towers, but from the looks of it, the entire city is in danger, not only from future attacks, but from all the smoke and debris in the air.

The important thing to do is not panic Quasar, There's a good chance that your GF may have been evacuated by police to safety, and is unable to get to a phone or Comp at the moment.

Yeah, I hope so. But the can't evacuate everybody. She may not have even been in the city, I don't know.

I wish I knew something. Plus I have other friends that go to NYU, and they're just a few blocks away. How far does a falling 110 story building travel?
