Hi Strafe (or anyone left with admin capabilities),

My last post here. Could you please remove the ACC from my title?

I have retired from politics again. Only now do I remember now why I retired the first time. You can do the right thing for the right reason and it can totally backfire and it goes all wrong and you end up getting the very thing you tried to prevent -- defection/retirement/whatever of all the people you care about. In trying to keep the AllSpark glued together, I now feel responsible for it falling apart and feel guilty about even showing my face. So much for the wisdom of age.

Nothing against ANY of you involved. In fact I've been trying a little behind-the-scenes advisory stuff in the hopes of a reconciliation among all the remaining staff members. This isn't political either. I'm doing this to preserve friendships only, and in the end prevent the anarchists from creeping in and taking over the AllSpark via the back door because our attentions are directed elsewhere.

Perhaps when the smoke clears and all is forgiven and forgotten and the place hasn't totally gone to hell after all, I'll feel better about posting fun stuff and staying the hell out of what I have no talent for. I may even give up fighting trolls, which I do have a talent for, lest that backfire too.

I admire each and every one of you, and my decision is not some silly protest or empty gesture. Somehow I damaged the very thing I sought to preserve and I don't want to do that ever again.

Hmm, apparently the last post wasn't my last post after all. I just peeked in to see if an admin had followed up on my request and I couldn't resist replying to you.

Pyre you young galoot, good to see you back. I was rather hoping you would return so I didn't take your pics off my server, and even if I depart they will remain there. Use them as you will.

So I made yet another swear-checker. Wow. I gues I'll know how to take that when I find out WHY. If it was a joke, then har-har-har. If the new board was so petty that they didn't want me there even in name, then boo-hiss-boo.

Whether I depart from AllSpark depends on the climate. I'm all for fun and games. But if the same old troubles that precipitated the crisis reoccur, then it's not worth the aggravation to give a damn about the AllSpark. I shall return to my fellow agemates and do my best to enjoy frank discussions about arthiritis throbs, errant grandchildren, and denture cream. I may hate it, but it's nothing you have to edit, delete or ban.

Do I get credit for this, at least: during the brief couple days I had administrative powers I did nothing with them, and let people vent to their heart's content because I thought it would be therapeutic? It's water over the dam, but some people elsewhere (I peeked) took my adminning with overtones of fear that I would start a reign of terror. How little they know how far I can be pushed before I react, and that only disruptive, boneheaded trolls ever needed fear my wrath. Oh well.

P.S.: according to the preview I still have my ACC armband on. Are there ANY admins left???

Appreciate it. There's no rancor involved. If I'm to be of any help to the AllSpark, it just won't be in any political sphere, that's all. My politics are a little incorrect nowadays. And evermore shall be so, since I put the good of the group first and never play the respecter-of-personalities game. I'd have voted to ban The Good Lord, had the circumstances been identical.

The majority (i think) got what they wanted. I just hope it turns out that it was what they wanted. Only time will tell.
