ya know, that could replace the allspark banner at the tops of the forums (or maybe work it so both are there). that way, ppl wont just zoom to the topics and will linger around the top more and may read the faq and the other links that are basically in obscurity
or was that what you had in mind? |

Actually... I think SPAT's weekly "AllSpark 90210" serves the same purpose, other than attracting to people to the FAQ and Directory (persomnally, I prefer the banners).
Think about it, it's not straight from the horse's mouth, so there's no sense of condecension that *SOME PEOPLE* feel. Spat also covers interesting events over the course of the week. We can also "feed" him some teasers. Win-win for everyone. ~ Darth Chrono  |

Well, the basic idea is to provide some kind of "what are they doing in there" update on a regular basis. I've read request for that several times and it makes sense to me. The Announcement area can be used for that purpose--Megatron knows we have enough Administrators: at least one of you folk ought to be able to update it from time to time. My thought was a weekly or bi-weekly post. As far as condescension is concerned, I thought some obviously tongue-in-cheek "condescension" would give the right effect. Yea! Verily good Citizens, 'tis true! The Council of Elders have put aside their discussions of pie and hockey so they might speak to you of matters... But then, I have an odd sense of humor.

Oh, the graphic itself is pretty good. The background and fonts could uses some work, though. *nudge-nudge*
